Birth Flowers and Stones

I've been thinking of something I could post here that would be both useful and informative for the start of this year. While I'm not a fan of astrological limitations of what a person should be, based on when he/she happened to be born, I quite like the idea of jewellery (who doesn't, right). Flowers don't hurt either.

I've made a list of birth stones and flowers which make traditional gifts for friends and family (especially women) related to the month in which they were born. Make a note of these for when you're shopping for presents for the rest of the year.

Stone - Garnet
Flower - Carnation or Snowdrop

  Stone - Amethyst
 Flower – Violet or Primrose

 Stone - Aquamarine
Flower - Daffodil

Stone - Diamonds
Flower – Sweet pea or Daisy
    Stone - Emerald
The Lily of the Valley
Stone - Pearl
Flower – the Rose
Stone - Ruby
Flower – the Water Lily
Stone - Peridot
Flower - the Gladiolus or Poppy
Stone - Sapphire
Flower – the Aster or Morning Glory
Stone - Opal
Flower – the Calendula (Marigold)
Stone – Topaz
Flower – the Chrysanthemum
Stone – Turquoise
Flower – the Narcissus

So this year there is no excuse for not getting the right presents. Hope your recipients appreciate your generosity. Happy New Year!

Please share this post on your favourite networking site if you find it useful. Thank you.

I suppose the April babies have it the best with their gemstone. LOL. Wishing you and your family all the very best during 2011. Thanks for your continuous support. I am sharing your post on FB. That way the guys will have no excuse about not knowing what to get for their woman ;)

hi anne!

follow up to your questions about point

if parents ask their little ones to do things,
like pick up their toys, but don't make sure
that they DO it, the kids learn to not listen.

i loved your idea about expecting more of
your teenager instead of anticipating bad
behavior or rebellion.

you must be a great mom!

Very pretty flowers! It's really refreshing to see on this dreary rainy day.
